It’s a foggy Sunday in London, the autumn vibes are here, and I love it.
There is something about a slow Sunday after a night out that makes the perfect excuse for a little extra self-care. Especially when you were out the night before!
I believe wellness is all about balance. Looking after yourself doesn’t mean saying no to everything you enjoy. Social wellness is important too, and sometimes that means going out for dinner, meeting friends and enjoying a few glasses of wine.
The key is knowing how to look after yourself afterwards.
So today, I’m sharing 5 simple things you can do the day after a night out to help you feel more refreshed, nourished and ready for the week ahead.
1. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate

This one is simple but easy to forget.
After a late night, especially if you’ve been drinking alcohol, starting your day with plenty of fluids is a good place to begin. I like to keep a large glass or bottle of water next to my bed and continue drinking throughout the morning.
You don’t need an expensive wellness drink or complicated detox routine. Water is a great starting point.
If you fancy something different, herbal tea or water with lemon can also make hydration feel a little more enjoyable.
Think of it as giving your body what it needs after a long night.
2. Rest and catch up on sleep
Sometimes the best wellness treatment is simply doing less.
A late night can mean less sleep than usual, and even if you slept for several hours, you may not feel quite as refreshed the next morning.
Instead of forcing yourself into a super productive Sunday, give yourself permission to slow down.
Sleep in if you can, take a nap if you need one, or simply have a slower morning.
Put your phone away, make a coffee, open the curtains and enjoy a quiet breakfast.
There is no prize for having the most productive day after a night out!
3. Eat a nourishing meal

Skipping meals because you had a big night before is usually not the answer.
Instead, focus on getting back to your usual balanced meals and choosing foods that make you feel good.
I love a simple, nourishing breakfast or lunch with plenty of colourful fruit and vegetables, some carbohydrates for energy and a source of protein.
Think:
- Avocado toast with eggs or tofu
- Oatmeal with berries, chia seeds and nut butter
- A colourful grain bowl with vegetables and beans
- A smoothie bowl topped with fruit, seeds and nuts
- A simple vegetable and noodle soup
You don’t need to “make up” for the night before by restricting your food.
One night out doesn’t undo your healthy habits.
Just get back to your normal routine.
4. Treat yourself to a little extra self-care
If you want to turn your Sunday into a proper wellness day, this is where you can have some fun.
A lymphatic massage, relaxing massage, sauna session or spa treatment can be a lovely way to slow down and take some time for yourself.
I wouldn’t look at these treatments as a way to “detox” alcohol or undo what you ate or drank the night before. Your body already has its own systems for processing and eliminating substances.
Instead, think of treatments as relaxation and self-care.
Sometimes booking a treatment is simply a nice reminder to stop, breathe and look after yourself.
And honestly, after a late night, a cosy spa treatment sounds pretty perfect to me.
5. Get a gentle sweat in
Movement can be a great way to get yourself feeling more awake and back into your routine.
But this is not the day for punishment workouts.
If you’re feeling tired or dehydrated, listen to your body and keep things gentle.
A long walk around London, an easy Pilates session, some mobility work or a light gym session can all be great options.
I especially love getting outside for a walk. Fresh air, daylight and a little movement can make a surprisingly big difference to how you feel.
And if you do want to exercise, remember that you don’t need to “burn off” the food or drinks from the night before.
Movement should make you feel better, not feel like a punishment.
Your simple Sunday reset

My ideal day-after-a-night-out routine would look something like this:
Morning:
Water + coffee + nourishing breakfast
Late morning:
A walk outside and some fresh air
Afternoon:
A good meal + plenty of fluids + some downtime
Evening:
Relaxing self-care + an early night
No complicated detox. No guilt. Just a few simple habits to help you get back into your normal routine.
Wellness is about balance
For me, this is what wellness is really about.
It’s not about being “perfect” all the time. It’s about creating a lifestyle that has room for healthy habits and dinners with friends, holidays, celebrations, wine and late nights.
So enjoy the night out, enjoy the Sunday reset, and then simply get back to doing what makes you feel good.
Because wellness should fit into your life — not take over it.
